Best Photoshoot Locations in Tuscany

It is hard to imagine a more cinematic place than Tuscany, one of the most visited regions in Italy—rolling hills bathed in golden light, medieval towns perched on hilltops, vineyards stretching endlessly into the horizon. Tuscany is a dream setting for a photoshoot, whether you are planning an elopement, an engagement photoshoot or a family photoshoot in Italy.

One of the best things about choosing the Tuscan countryside over big tourist cities is that you can always find breathtaking spots without the crowds, you’ll have endless open spaces, quiet roads lined with cypress trees, and hidden gems that feel like your own private backdrop.

The landscape changes beautifully with the seasons. If you visit Italy in April or May, you’ll find Tuscany emerald-green. In summer, the scenery transforms into warm, golden tones.

Here’s the perfect itinerary for a sunset photoshoot in the Tuscan countryside, capturing both its stunning landscapes and the charm of its medieval towns

1. Agriturismo Baccoleno, Asciano

One of the most iconic photoshoot locations in Tuscany is Agriturismo Baccoleno, famous for its winding cypress-lined road. This stunning spot, just a short drive from Siena, perfectly captures the essence of the Tuscan countryside. The curving pathway, flanked by tall cypress trees and bathed in golden sunset light, creates a dreamy and cinematic backdrop, making it one of the most sought-after locations for romantic photoshoots in Italy.

2. Val d’Orcia

As you head down to the south, you’ll find yourselves in the breathtaking Val d’Orcia valley, one of the most picturesque parts of Tuscany. As you drive through the valley, you’ll pass endless olive groves and sprawling vineyards - both excellent settings for photoshoot with classic Tuscan feel.

With its rolling hills and endless wheat fields Val d’Orcia valley in Tuscany looks like a painting come to life. However, while the entire area is stunning, finding the perfect photo spots can be tricky. So my advise is to have a couple of stops planned ahead. For examples, Poggio Covili farmhouse, white an iconic cypress-lined driveway or Cappella della Madonna di Vitaleta chapel, which is a perfect mix of beautiful architecture and breathtaking scenery.

3. pienza

Pienza is one of the most charming and photogenic towns in Val d’Orcia area, with its cozy streets, pastel-toned architecture and scenic Belvedere overlooking the hills of Tuscan countryside.

Tuscany is definitely one of my favourite destinations for photoshoots in Italy, especially if it is an elopement or an engagement session. If you are interested in a photoshoot in Tuscany or any other destination, please, feel free to reach out and let’s create beauty together.
